In April 1974, my parents bought me a 1968 "GT/California Special" that I'd seen for sale in the Sacramento Bee for $1,500. I'd always wanted a Shelby Mustang, but this was an interesting alternative. We went to Sacramento and picked it up, and it became my life for 36 years. I drove it for over 400,000 miles all over California, truly living the California Mustang dream! It led to my forming national GT/CS registry of over 1,300 cars, and two editions of my "GT/CS Recognition Guide", printed in 1987 and in 2011, a 224-color page hardbound edition. This led to meeting many good people that owned classic Mustangs, as well as leaders at Ford Motor Company. My 2011 edition received great accolades, including a Lee Iacocca award, and an interview with Jay Leno! The business of writing and publishing, and distributing books is a difficult journey, but one of great personal satisfaction, that can lead to many other things. Authorship has its benefits! Today, a copy of my book resides in the Ford Archives in Dearborn, Michigan.
